Photoshoot: Aston Martin DB6
I recently had the pleasure of photographing a stunning Aston Martin DB6 for Bonhams|Cars in London. Shot in the atmospheric Holland Park Mews, the session included exterior, interior, and detail photography for both the auction catalogue and online listing.
PHOTOGRAPHY
There are certain projects I simply can’t say no to, especially when I’m asked to photograph an Aston Martin DB6 for Bonhams|Cars, with whom I’ve had the pleasure of working for some time. These images were commissioned for both the printed auction catalogue and the online listing, so the aim was to present the car in the best possible light.
In this case, I had no influence over the time of day or the location. However, Holland Park Mews is almost always a fitting backdrop, not only for its atmosphere, but also for the flexibility it offers in creating a variety of shots. This is particularly useful when the photographs may later be used for website banners, social media posts, or other digital graphics.
Once the essential images (exterior, interior, and detail photography) have been captured, I like to move into a more creative phase. This provides the client, in this case Bonhams, with a broader range of material to draw upon, especially for social media and wider promotional use.
